      My Desert Island Cookbook Posted on May 3, by canalcook under Cookbooks Ok, fine, I will acknowledge that if I were actually to have a choice about what I brought when stranded on a desert island, a cookbook would realistically be down the list.   My final one, how can it compete with Shakespeare, well it probably can’t but I’d choose some poetry: Larkin. His wit is impressive and I can’t help but be excited by reading his take on life. So, that would be my desert island books. Poetry, I find, gives something different every time you read it.
